Purpose: Along with sharing information on the SSISD website and email, the purpose of the informational meeting is to review the following:
o the characteristics of dyslexia and related disorders;
o evaluation and identification of dyslexia and related disorders;
o effective instructional strategies for teaching students with dyslexia and related disorders;
o the qualifications of and contact information for Providers of Dyslexia Instruction (PDI) at each campus or school;
o instructional accommodations and modifications;
o the steps in the special education process, as described in the form developed by TEA to comply with TEC §29.0031(a)(1); and
o how to request a copy and access the electronic version of the Handbook
