Bowie Primary Counselor

At Bowie Primary, we believe in the importance of helping your child meet his/her social and emotional needs. We work together to create a safe and positive learning environment for all students. As their counselor, I will work with students both in and outside of the classroom to assist with their social and emotional learning (SEL). This includes facilitating character lessons and helping students grow and learn important life skills such as: motivation, conflict resolution, self-regulation, altruism, emotional maintenance, growth mindset, grit, and resilience. When our students' social and emotional needs are met, they can optimally focus on learning academic skills and actualizing their potential.

As a parent/guardian, you can support your child’s SEL growth at home, too! Please view our monthly character traits at the link below and join in the conversations about each trait at home! What does each character trait look like in our homes and workplaces? I look forward to working with you and your students as they journey through their years at Bowie Primary.

Why Elementary School Counselors?
Elementary school years set the tone for developing the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for children to become healthy, competent and confident learners. Through a comprehensive developmental school counseling program, counselors work as a team with the school staff, parents and the community to create a caring climate and atmosphere.
