My Name is Tammy Carrell, I am the Head Athletic Trainer for SSHS. My husband Victor and I have 3 sons; Stacy and his wife Brittany, Kasie, and Brady and 2 daughters; Krista and Danica. We have 5 grandkids, Melissa, Kilie Mae, Timmy, Mattick, and Aubry.

Josh Neill has moved over to Coach Jr. High Girls. he will still help as an athletic trainer as needed.
Josh Neill he comes to Sulphur Springs ISD from SFA. He attended Stephen F. Austin where he earned his bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During his time at SFA he was awarded several scholarships. He was placed on the SFA Athletic Directors honor and dean's list. As a freshmen he was accepted into the Athletic Training program. He was the only freshman to have been selected. He was taught and worked under Hall of Famer, Sandy Miller. He studied and worked throughout college in the sports medicine field, where he worked all sports. Upon graduation he earned his Texas Athletic Training license.

The most important part of being an Athletic Trainer, "You are there through the winning seasons, and most importantly, you are there through the losing seasons."

Assistant Athletic Trainer
Brad Abell begins his second year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Sulphur Springs. He has 19 years of athletic training experience at both the high school and college levels. Stints include: 6A Cedar Hill, 5A Royse City and 5A Texas City plus a combined 7 years at Texas A&M University-Commerce where he worked as both an assistant and head athletic trainer. Coach Abell was also a graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska for 2 years. He is a nationally certified and state licensed athletic trainer. He is married to wife, Billie and has a daughter, Bailey and step-son, Trent Hemphill

Natalie Martino ATC, LAT
Assistant Athletic Trainer

Natalie Martino comes to Sulphur Springs ISD from Stephen F. Austin University. She attended SFA where she earned her Bachelor in Science in Fitness and Human Performance in 2013 and her Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2016. During her time at SFA she worked closely with all SFA sports as well as Lufkin High School and Middle School. She is Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification for Athletic Training, as well as a Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer. Natalie also holds two other certifications. One as a Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Association of Sports Medicine and the other as a Graston Technique M1 provider.
