Sulphur Springs High School Student Council invited the Sulphur Springs Elementary School 5th grade Kindness Club and Student Council to listen to author, Summer Nilson. She talked about her new book series that is a part of "Looder Tales".
Students learned about empathy, kindness, and recognizing that the voice in our head is not always right. Through her characters, she allows students to understand the importance of speaking kindly to others and themselves, facing their fears, and accomplishing difficult tasks. Each student went home with the first two books in her series: The Land of the Pines, and The Land of the Strays. Books three and four will come out at a later date. SSES students also got to practice ways to be kind and ways to work together.
