Accounting II
Course Description
Accounting II continues to extend coverage from the first-year course. A review of the entire accounting cycle using a departmentalized business allows students to begin the advanced course by reviewing many of the topics learned in the first-year course. The remainder of the course explores various aspects of accounting, including control systems, accounting adjustments, management and cost accounting, and not-for-profit accounting. Technology is integrated throughout the course through the use of Automated Accounting software. This course helps qualify students for jobs and careers at higher levels than one year of study would allow. It is also excellent background and preparation for college business courses. Research has proven that students who have successfully completed two years of high accounting are more successful in their first year of college than students without the background.
