SSISD Motto

Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Vision Statement

The vision of Sulphur Springs Independent School District is for every child within our diverse community to be educated at the highest level leading to academic success and unparalleled personal growth.

Mission Statement

The Sulphur Springs Independent School District cooperatively shares with the home and community the responsibility for the educational development of youth within the district to prepare them to live and work in the changing future.

Goals

1.         Students will be encouraged and challenged to meet their full educational potential.

2.         Students will be educated in learning environments that are safe, drug-free, and conducive to learning.

3.         Students will be taught by highly qualified staff.

4.         Sulphur Springs ISD will encourage parent/guardian and community involvement in school activities.

Philosophy

The educational program must maintain accountability for demonstrated results and continuous improvement.
A well organized program characterized by quality, equity and accountability will have the vitality to prepare youth for the changes and the challenges of the future, a future which will belong to the educated.

The Sulphur Springs Independent School District cooperatively shares with the home and the community the responsibility for the educational development of youth to prepare them to live and work in the changing future. The district values and solicits the support of the people for whom it exists, and their involvement in the overall educational framework is encouraged.

All students in the district need to develop essential academic skills and to acquire a knowledge base on which to build lifelong learning. All students will be taught a core curriculum of English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, health, physical education, and technological literacy. All students will acquire a knowledge of citizenship and economic responsibilities and an appreciation of our common American heritage including its multicultural richness.

To the full extent of their individual abilities, students will be provided the opportunity to develop the ability to think logically, independently, and creatively and to communicate effectively. Educating youth to be productive in a changing future necessitates an excellent educational program.
